Canadian Automotive Fleet Highlights the Importance of Risk Management in Managing Fleets
In a recently published article, Canadian Automotive Fleet explores the importance of limiting corporate liability through company car and car allowance programs. Comprehensive driver policies, MVR checks, driver safety training and personal use policies were all highlighted as important tools used to mitigate risk. Peter Nogalo of ARI Canada noted, however, that among all of the tools available to fleet managers, “[t]he first step is developing a comprehensive diver policy that explicitly dictates what is and what is not allowable while operating a company vehicle.
