CHRYSLER "PT CRUISER" PRICING

Detroit, MI –January 12, 2000 - During the North American International Auto Show press preview yesterday afternoon, DaimlerChrysler announced that the 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser pricing would start at only $16,000, including the $550 destination charge. The top-of-the-line Limited model, with almost every available option, will top off at $19,995 including the destination fee.

The PT Cruiser goes into production at DaimlerChrysler's Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico on February 14, 2000. Fleet availability will not occur until March 2000, but orders can be submitted to ARI now for placement with DaimlerChrysler on or after February 7, 2000.

Powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve SMPI four-cylinder engine rated at 150 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 162 lb.-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The standard model includes a five-speed manual transaxle or an available four-speed automatic transaxle.

Overall length is 168.8 inches; the overall exterior length is equal to the size of a small car to provide nimble city handling, yet its EPA interior volume of 120.2 cubic feet rivals that of a full-size sedan.

Its versatile interior features a 65 / 35 split folding rear seat that can be folded forward in two positions or removed completely. The available front passenger seat can be folded completely forward for use as a table top, and the rear storage compartment is equipped with a muti-position shelf panel that can be placed in any one of five positions, including a tailgate table position, or removed completely. 2001 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC AND EXPLORER SPORT

The all-new 2001 Explorer Sport Trac and re-designed 2001 Explorer Sport are important, evolutionary new members of Ford's top-selling Explorer family. While Ford has offered a two-door version of its best-selling SUV since 1992 and has updated it a few times along the way, the 2001 Explorer Sport freshening makes a bold new statement and for the first time allows this youthful model to take on an identity of its own. At the same time, the Explorer Sport Trac, with its open rear cargo area, breaks new ground in the segment and will be the first SUV of its type on the road.

While both the Explorer Sport and the Explorer Sport Trac are expected to have strong appeal to younger customers, perhaps first-time SUV buyers, that is where the similarities end. Customers for each vehicle will be looking for very different things based on their needs and anticipated uses of their SUV.

END OF 2000 SUBARU FORESTER PRODUCTION / 2001 INFORMATION

Cherry Hill, NJ – January 24, 2000 - The 2000 Subaru Forester can no longer be ordered from the factory. During February, Subaru will be releasing the launch allocation of the new, redesigned 2001 Forester. These vehicles are scheduled to begin arriving at dealers during the month of March. This new vehicle was just introduced to the press at the Detroit Auto Show during the week of January 10, 2000. Here is some advance information on the 2001 model, including changes or upgrades to the 2000 vehicle. Unfortunately, pricing is not yet available.

2001 AURORA PRICED LESS THAN PREVIOUS GENERATION

Detroit – January 18, 1999 - Oldsmobile announced today pricing for the all-new 2001 Aurora. Dealer's first new cars are due to hit their showrooms this month and orders can now be placed with ARI.

The Aurora 3.5 is $30,800 (MSRP) and features the award winning 3.5L DOHC V6. The Aurora 4.0 with the race inspired 4.0L DOHC V8 is $34,975 (MSRP). Both prices include a $670 destination charge.

Oldsmobile's flagship with the 4.0L V8 is priced nearly $2,000 less than the previous generation Aurora and has more standard features including 17" wheels, side airbags, moisture sense wipers and Oldsmobile's Precision Control System.

Leading Oldsmobile in its role as General Motors' import fighting division, the 2001 Aurora is priced lower than such comparative imports as Lexus ES 300 and the BMW 5 Series. Aurora also is priced considerably lower than the Lincoln LS V6 and V8.

"Recent growth within the entry luxury segment gives us great expectations for the 2001 Aurora," says John Gatt, Aurora brand manager. "We anticipate doubling Aurora sales in 2000."

2001 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW - OPENING NEW DOORS

Dearborn, MI – January 6, 2000 - "The F-150 SuperCrew adds more versatility and innovation to the Ford F-Series lineup by offering customers a choice they can't find anywhere else in the full-size pickup market. SuperCrew seats up to six adult passengers comfortably, without sacrificing its work-truck capability," said Gurminder Bedi, Vice President, Ford North America Truck.

The new 2001 F-150 SuperCrew models will be built at the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri and will be on sale at Ford Dealerships in February 2000. Orders can now be placed with ARI.

The new 2001-model Ford F-150 SuperCrew adds a new dimension to work- and personal-use trucks. It is the only under-8500-pound gross vehicle weight (GVW) truck in its class with four full-size doors and a full rear passenger compartment. It also is the only pickup on the market with power adjustable pedals. SuperCrew is designed for a broad range of buyers who need all the capability of a "Built Ford Tough" pickup along with passenger-carrying capacity and increased ease of entry and exit. Its 5.5 foot box and optional Bed Extender - which creates a total of seven feet of cargo carrying capacity - ensures owners can put it to work like any other Ford pickup.

For those times when the pickup box is called upon for hard work, SuperCrew meets the needs of most customers with 44.2 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Standard payload of 1,765 pounds is the same as F-150 SuperCab.

Larger items, such as 4x8 sheets of plywood, fit between the wheelhouses and can be carried with the tailgate lowered.

F-Series has been the best-selling truck for 23 consecutive years, and the best-selling vehicle of any kind, car or truck, for the past 18 years.


GM's DUAL FAN

In a letter addressed to "fleet accounts," dated January 14, 2000, David Hansen , General Manager Fleet Sales for General Motors, stated: "The Dual Fan Fleet Account Number (FAN) system has been running successfully for over three months now and has greatly assisted us in identifying customer orders and in providing better customer service. Here is a brief update on system procedures."

"All Fleet Management Companies, when ordering for their customers, should be using FLS order type. Additionally, the fleet account number for the Fleet Management Company should be listed as the primary FAN while the fleet account number for their fleet customer should be listed as the End-User FAN. FLS orders without End-User FANS will not be accepted by the system after January 17, 2000."

"As a reminder, End-User FAN's may be obtained by the requesting company's dealer. Dealers can submit a request via the www.gmfans.com Web site, which is accessible through GM ACCESS. Fleet Management Companies can request a FAN for their qualified customer by e-mail."


ORDERS FOR CHEVY/GMC FULL SIZE SPORT UTILITY MODELS

GM Announced on January 14, 2000, that the availability of Full-Size Utility models is limited for the balance of the 2000 model year. As a result of the new product release in November, availability of Fleet and Commercial production of Full-Size Utility models will begin around March for Suburban and Yukon XL and April for Tahoe and Yukon.

David Hansen, general manager for Fleet & Government sales said, "We realize allocation for Full-Size Utility Models is very low. However, we will make every effort to fill as many requests as possible within the allocation amount. Allocation will be distributed to the Regional Commercial Managers for the balance of the model year.


GENERAL MOTORS WILL EXERCISE OPTION TO TAKE SOLE OWNERSHIP

Detroit/Stockholm – January 10, 2000 - General Motors Corp. announced today that it intends to exercise the option to buy the remaining 50 percent of Saab Automobile AB from Investor AB, the Swedish industrial holding company, with which the GM group has shared ownership for the last decade. The GM group will take full ownership of Saab by the end of January.

"Over our 10 years with Saab we've seen increasing market success and expansion of the Saab brand internationally," said GM President and Chief Operating Officer G. Richard Wagoner, Jr. "We've had a great relationship with Saab and appreciate our association with Investor, our joint-venture partner. During this time, the Saab brand has maintained its unique identity while weÕve been able to capitalize on marketing, purchasing and product-development synergies."

"This logical next step of exercising our option to take full ownership will be to move ahead even faster in developing new innovative Saab products, contributing even more to a globally diverse portfolio of resources, expertise and products."

Saab Automobile AB became a 50-50 joint venture on March 15, 1990, with the GM Group holding half of the shares, and Saab-Scania AB owning the other half. Saab-Scania was acquired in 1991 by Investor AB.

In 1999, Saab produced almost 128,000 cars. Swedish production facilities are located in TrollhŠttan (Saab'sheadquarters) for the 9-3 and 9-5 models, SšdertŠlje (engines) and Gothenburg (transmissions). In addition, the 9-3 Convertible is assembled at Valmet Automotive in Uusikaupunki, Finland. Saab employs almost 10,000 people worldwide.

Saab cars are sold in 50 markets around the world. The major markets for Saab are the US, the UK, Sweden and Germany.


FORD TO BRING INTERNET TO MILLIONS OF VEHICLES

Detroit – Jan. 9, 2000 - Ford Motor Company will equip 2001-model-year vehicles with voice-activated telematics systems offering advanced security features and information access. These systems will be standard on select Lincoln luxury vehicles and optional on Ford Focus in Europe; other applications will be announced shortly.

The telematics systems will include the option of voice-activated access to personalized Internet information including news, stock quotes and weather. This telematics rollout will be expanded to virtually all Ford vehicles worldwide over the next several years.

"In the first years of the 20th century, Ford Motor Company pioneered affordable personal transportation for ordinary people," said Ford President and Chief Executive Officer Jac Nasser, during the North American International Auto Show. "In this new century, Ford will make affordable, advanced in-vehicle communications technology available to millions of customers. Ford is aggressively developing a unique business model that will deliver these products and services quickly and affordably to large groups of customers, regardless of their vehicle choice." Telematics refers to advanced in-vehicle communications and information technologies and services. Examples include wireless phones, navigation systems, satellite radio and Internet connectivity.

NEW JERSEY SURCHARGE
Revised 12/1/99

To recover anticipated increased costs of conducting business in New Jersey, as a result of recent legislation, General Motors announced to their dealers on October 1, 1999 that effective immediately they were revising prices of 2000 model cars and trucks. This "surcharge" is only added to invoices of vehicles that are shipped to dealers in New Jersey.

Should Ford or DaimlerChrysler follow suit, we will announce it here in the Purchasing News.

If a vehicle is shipped to a New Jersey dealer for delivery out of the state, GM is developing a refund procedure.

The option code on the GM invoice is "R6M - New Jersey Cost Surcharge." The amount of the surcharge varies by model. It ranges from $22 on a Prizm to $227 for a Cadillac Seville. Here is the list of GM surcharges by model:

Ford Motor Company - National Fleet Incentives

On July 2, 1999, Ford announced the following National Fleet Incentives for the 2000 model year cars and trucks. Ford is combining the National Fleet Incentives with the Fleet Marketing Credits for a "Total Fleet Discount" for each vehicle line. This is to provide an accurate comparison between Ford vehicles and the facing GM products for the 2000 model year. Their national incentives have been increased to compensate for the elimination of marketing credits to fleet customers for 2000. The "Total Fleet Incentive" should avoid confusion that may exist due to the GM fleet program change.

Qualified Buyers: Those accounts registering 3 or more units of any make in a twelve month period, as evidenced by vehicle registration documentation. When a leasing company is the registered entity, the end-user of the vehicle must meet the test of an eligible account. Subaru of America (SOA), at its discretion, may require physical evidence of 3 vehicle registrations to verify an accounts eligiblity or a copy of the lease agreement with the end-user noted. A Fleet Identification Number (FIN) must be assigned to the purchasing account. In the case of leasing companies, the purchasing account and the end-user must be assigned FIN's.

In an effort to assist you and your Fleet Customers to plan remaining 2000 model year vehicle requirements, Fleet order cutoff dates have been established based on anticipated demand. While it is possible that actual orders can exceed our production capacity, we believe our forecast is satisfactory for planning purposes.

To ensure consideration for production, orders must be placed in the DaimlerChrysler Order System by the above mentioned dates. Actual production, however, is subject to capacity limitations. Orders may also be accepted after the cutoff dates depending on production availability. We recommend that you take the necessary actions to advise Fleet customers of these dates. Thank you in advance for your continuing support, and your cooperation to help make the close-out 2000 model Fleet production as smooth as possible.

GM announced on January 7, 2000 the first phase of their 2000-Model "final order dates." Orders for the vehicles noted below must be received by January 29, 2000.

GMT 400 – Chevrolet CK & GMC Sierra Classic Regular Cab Pickups & Chassis Cabs (old body style produced in Flint, MI) with the following build conditions only:

1) Special Equipment Options (SEOs) and / or SEO Paint. Units produced in Arlington, TX do not have SEOs and therefore, are not affected in Phrase 1 of the build out.
2) GMT 400 Regular Cab Pickups CC30903 / TC30903 and CK30903 / TK30903 with GVWR
