


Fleet Incentives Announced for Early 2004 Chrysler Group Models

DaimlerChrysler has announced the Fleet Purchase Allowance and Fleet Purchase Incentive for select 2004 early introduction models. In addition, the 2004 Intrepid SE will be offered with a Safety/Convenience Group (AWC) that includes the following equipment: Antilock Disc Brakes, Remote Keyless/Illuminated Entry System, Bodyside Molding, Power Driver's Seat and Cruise Control. The package will be offered at a discount (pricing will be announced at a later date). The 2004 Fleet Program Period begins with the purchase of any eligible 2004 model and will continue through December 31, 2003. A valid DaimlerChrysler Fleet Account Number (FAN) is required. The 2004 Fleet Purchase Program Rules are unchanged from the previous Model Year and can be found at www.arifleet.com in the "2003 Fleet Programs" section of the Purchasing News.

GM is offering a $500 Fleet Buildout Order Bonus on select 2003 models beginning with orders placed on or after January 17, 2003. The incentive is available until the 2003 order cutoff date for each eligible vehicle. All units must be delivered by September 30, 2003 to receive the incentive. Eligible vehicles include all 2003 Impala, Cavalier, Malibu, Venture, Montana, Silhouette, Astro and Safari models. Units not built as 2003 models are ineligible. This incentive is compatible with and requires the Fleet Purchase Program (option code VX5). It is not compatible with Competitive Assistance Programs (CAPS). The $500 Fleet Buildout Order Bonus is not an off-invoice credit. It will be paid as an open account credit upon application. |

Volvo has released Final Order Due Dates for the 2003 Model Year as well as 2004MY Startup Dates. After the 2003 order banks are closed, most models (except XC90) may still be obtained through Volvo's "stock-to-fill" vehicle pool. Volvo said that pricing and specifications for 2004 models will be available in the near future.

GM is offering an all-new, redesigned Chevrolet Malibu Sedan for the 2004 Model Year. Malibu will be the first passenger car in the Chevrolet lineup to bear Chevy's new "family look". Three trim levels will be offered: Standard, LS and LT. The new Malibu has a wider stance, shorter overhangs and new jeweled exterior lighting features. It is more spacious inside than its predecessor with a total of 101 cubic feet of interior space. A new personalized fit package allows drivers of all sizes to adjust the position of the seat, steering wheel and pedals to their desired position. An available factory-installed remote vehicle start package allows the driver to start the car using a key fob. The system is designed to work from approximately 200 feet away from the vehicle. The 2004 Malibu is available with two powertrains – a fuel efficient Ecotec 2.2-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine that produces 140 hp. and 150 lb.-ft. of torque or a new 3500 V6 that produces 200 hp. and 210 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines are mated to a four-speed electronically controlled automatic overdrive transmission. Safety features include high-strength, dual-phase steel that is used in strategic areas to provide improved impact protection. In addition, Malibu is equipped with a Passenger Occupant Protection System, which suppresses air bag deployment if a child or small adult is detected in the front passenger seat. Side roof air bags are offered as optional. Production of the 2004 Malibu is tentatively scheduled to begin on June 2, 2003. Chrysler Releases Pricing for All-New 2004 Pacifica
Pricing for the all-new 2004 Chrysler Pacifica will start at $31,230 MSRP for the front-wheel drive model and $32,980 MSRP for the all-wheel drive, DaimlerChrysler recently announced. The 2004 Pacifica, categorized by DaimlerChrysler as a "Sports Tourer", offers three rows of seating, with the second and third rows designed to fold flat to increase cargo carrying capacity. Pacifica will be offered in a variety of colors such as Bright Silver Metallic, Brilliant Black Crystal, Butane Blue, Inferno Red, Light Almond Pearl, Onyx Green, Satin Jade and Stone White. The new model carries a total of $500 in Fleet Incentives (includes Fleet Purchase Allowance and Fleet Purchase Incentive) and will be available in the spring of 2003. It will be built at DaimlerChrysler's Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada. |

Mazda Offers New Accessories for Mazda6

Mazda recently announced pricing for three new appearance accessories that are now available on the 2003 Mazda6. The first new option is a (1AP) Appearance Package that includes a front air dam, side sill extensions, rear bumper skirt and exhaust tips. This package is priced at $900 MSRP. The second accessory being added is Fog Lamps (FOG) and it retails for $250. The third new option is a Body Color Sport Grill that is priced at $175 MSRP. |
Subaru Impreza WRX Redesigned for 2004
The newly redesigned 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX, which will make its showroom debut this summer, was among the many new models introduced at the North American International Auto Show in early January. Like its predecessor, the 2004 Impreza WRX will be available in both Sedan and Sport Wagon models. New exterior design features on the 2004 Impreza WRX include larger headlights and sharper character lines that begin at the headlamps and extend onto the redesigned hood. All 2004 Impreza models have revised air inlets on the front fascia, and WRX models add projector beam halogen fog lamps to the list of standard equipment. The taillights and rear bumper are also redesigned. On the inside, Impreza WRX now comes with sport bucket seats, new seat fabric and integrated head restraints. A new instrument panel relocates the tachometer and includes a new cruise control "engaged" indicator. Silver trim has been added to the gauges. New options include a moonroof and an all-weather package that features heated front seats, windshield wiper de-icer and heated exterior mirrors. In addition, two new exterior colors are available: Java Black Pearl and San Remo Red. Standard features on the 2004 Impreza WRX include:
The new model continues to offer the intercooled/turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 227 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 217 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Subaru will announce pricing, availability and ordering information for the 2004 Impreza WRX at a later date. |
