GM Announces 2004 Fleet Incentives, Impala Fleet Groups

GM has announced its 2004 Model Year National Fleet Purchase Program (VX5/STK) and 2004 Impala Fleet Equipment Groups. 2004 MY National Fleet Purchase Program The 2004 Model Year National Fleet Purchase Program (VX5) period begins at the opening of the 2004 MY ordering system and ends at the cutoff of 2004 MY fleet orders. For Out-of-Stock (STK) units, the program period ends when 2004 MY vehicles can no longer be processed through GM's Billing and Receivable System.

2004 Impala Fleet Equipment Groups The 2004 Model Year Impala Fleet Equipment Groups discounts are also available at the opening of the 2004 MY and end at the fleet ordering cutoff date. The program is offered on the 2004 Impala Sedan (model 1WF19) with equipment groups 1SD, 1SF or 1SE only. Invoice credits are as follows (credit will appear on invoice under option code 1SZ): 1SD: $740 1SE: $490 1SF: $450 Impala net package costs will not be available until 2004 MY pricing is announced. All qualified fleet customers with a GM Fleet Account Number (FAN) are eligible. Both the 2004 MY National Fleet Purchase Incentive and 2004 MY Impala Fleet Equipment Group Programs are compatible with Competitive Assistance Programs (CAPS).

DaimlerChrysler Increases 2003 and 2004 Model Year Base Prices

Base prices for 2004 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models have increased, effective with orders placed on or after May 5, 2003. A Model Year-end price-increase for all 2003 models also went into effect on May 5, 2003.

Bona fide sold orders placed prior to the effective date will be price protected, provided that the vehicle is delivered to the ordering customer within five calendar days after being received by the dealer.

Ford Increases Base Prices on 2003 Models

Ford Motor Company has announced a Model Year-end base price-increase on most 2003 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models. The increase went into effect on May 5, 2003.

Automatic price protection will be provided on firm 2003 fleet orders signed and dated on or before May 5, 2003.

Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price-increase amounts may vary within each model line, depending on the Array. MSRP base price increases are as follows:

Toyota Fleet recently announced its Commercial "Invoice Credit" Incentive and price assurance support elements for the 2004 Model Year.

For the first time, Toyota is offering a Commercial Fleet Incentive on its Prius Gas-Electric Hybrid vehicle. For more information on the all-new, redesigned 2004 Prius, see the current issue of EnviroFleet dated May 20, 2003.

2004 Advance Fleet Order Price Assurance

Select fleet vehicles for the 2004 Model Year will be price assured at base level prices plus a percentage of 1% for all models (except RAV4 – 3%). Orders must received by specific dates, which vary from model to model.

Increases resulting from any equipment changes, safety equipment, required emissions, factory-installed options, port installed options, and freight charges are ineligible and excluded from price assurance calculations.

General Motors recently announced several equipment changes that may affect customer selectors for the 2004 MY Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana Cargo Van models.

The *G23405 regular wheelbase rear-wheel drive cargo Express/Savana will not be available in the 2004 Model Year with the following options:

(C6A) 7300 lbs. GVWR
(LU3) Vortec 4300 V6 engine
(LM7) Vortec 5300 V8 engine

In addition, the base GVWR for the *G13405 cargo Express/Savana Van will now be 7200 lbs. The 6200 lbs. GVWR (Q4B) will be optional.

The base condition for a *G23405 model will now be offered with the following Heavy Duty configuration:

(C6P) 8600 lbs. GVWR (standard)
(LR4) Vortec 4800 V8 engine (standard)
(LQ4) Vortec 6000 V8 engine (optional)

If a light duty *G23405 model is desired, GM recommends ordering the *G13405 model with a 7200 lbs. GVWR. This model actually has a higher payload than the *G23405.

In addition, the *H23405 regular wheelbase all-wheel drive cargo Express/Savana Van (7300 lbs. GVWR) will not be available in the 2004 Model Year. The *H13405 (7200 lbs. GVWR) will still be available.

GM's Oklahoma City Assembly Plant was heavily damaged by the same tornado that killed over 40 people in the Midwest earlier this month.

About 1,200 GM workers were inside the plant when the storm hit. Fortunately, none were seriously injured thanks to a siren in the plant that warned workers to take cover.

The plant, however, suffered damage to its electrical powerhouse, paint shop and body shop. In addition, many new vehicles around the plant were damaged. According to a GM spokesman, the union hall for UAW Local 1999, which is just steps away from the plant, was nearly leveled.

The 3 million square foot plant builds the Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL. It produces about 600 trucks per day. Both models are also built at GM's Moriane Ohio Assembly Plant, which can carry additional model production if necessary.

GM is still assessing the damage at Oklahoma City to determine when the plant will re-open. Major delivery delays for Trailblazer EXT and Envoy XL are expected.
