Fuel Management

How to manage the run-up in fuel prices

ARI works with clients to develop proactive fuel cost reduction strategies with tools that help manage fleet activities and impact fuel economy: vehicle acquisition, operation and maintenance, driver training, behavior and communication.

This helps eliminate or improve wasteful practices that drive costs up, replacing them with efficient processes and policies that fleet management can control to optimize the purchase and use of fuel.

The proactive approach enables clients to manage fuel use and expenses by setting standards before purchases are made, to prevent high and unnecessary charges.

Effective vehicle selection techniques, maintenance management, driver communication, telematics, replacement cycling and performance benchmarking keep the fleet operating at maximum fuel efficiency to help clients better manage fuel price volatility.

GPS-tracked data

A GPS tracking system recommended by ARI improved vehicle performance and driver productivity for a plumbing, heating and air conditioning contractor with 200 employees and 20 route trucks. Company managers track and route vehicles 24/7 via the Internet as the system collects data on mileage/fuel efficiency, maintenance needs, speed and idle time. The system has generated a 20% reduction in fuel expenses and significant ROI.

Better Uptime and Fuel Economy

ARI's dual strategy of keeping vehicles on the road longer while eliminating unnecessary mileage has improved one of our customer's fuel efficiency and lowered overall fleet expenses by $2,300 per month. We improved uptime with diagnostic alerts that signal when maintenance is due, and cut unnecessary mileage by recommending that vehicles be used for company business only.
