Building trust in a complex fleet world
Read anything about team effectiveness, or talk to people who work as part of a team, and it comes down to this: trust is fundamental to every winning team.
ARI builds winning account management teams and earns the trust of our clients through the successful delivery of promised performance. ARI is in the business of solving complex fleet problems. We succeed when our clients succeed. This is the cornerstone of our business and the mindset of our employees.
We always:
- Put the client’s interest ahead of our own. We deliver more value. Every day we work to understand our client’s business, company and the role of its vehicles, all of which helps us optimize fleet assets and exceed expectations.
- Remain accessible. Our clients never get bounced around from department to department, or wander through a maze of people to get help. One call does it.
- Orchestrate a lifecycle approach to asset management. Our approach encompasses the entire supply chain from vehicle sourcing to remarketing, for optimum fleet performance at the lowest overall cost.
- Provide single-source accountability. It ties everything together. We take responsibility for every aspect of day-to-day fleet management. This enables clients to stay focused on business.
- Tell the truth. With our clients we collaborate to create solutions together. Yet we remain independent and sometimes disagree. We invent and champion unconventional solutions to complex problems. This unique combination of client advocacy and consulting independence distinguishes ARI in the industry.
- Deliver our best. We support customers as effectively and cost-effectively as we can.
'Bottom-line' thinking for top results
A large delivery firm had a decentralized fleet with more than 5,600 vehicles located throughout numerous operating sites. The fleet was not managed, so no one was sure exactly where the vehicles were. Most of the vehicles were medium-duty vending trucks—14 different specs in all—with special bodies and equipment. The fleet included 1,200 passenger vehicles, 1,400 maintenance vans, delivery vans, and vans with lift gates. Our groundbreaking work in managing implementation enabled us to make this complex, decentralized fleet, manageable once again. Our solution improved inventory control, eliminating vehicles that were sitting idle and being used for spare parts. Total client savings in insurance, maintenance and licensing were estimated at $1,000 per vehicle. Also, lowering the vehicle count by 5% produced additional savings of $250,000.
Building on success, day by day
A paper manufacturing company chose ARI based on our extensive record of account management success. In the beginning, weekly conference calls were required to supervise our Fleet Administration team and program. As improvement in the decentralized fleet operation occurred day by day (automating driver change forms, e-mail billing and establishing a clear, accurate database of contact information) the conference schedule was relaxed — first to a bi-monthly — then a monthly schedule. When our results met and exceeded expectations, the conference schedule was changed to “as needed.” ARI’s FAP was so successful it gave the fleet manager more time to address strategic issues and other important company business.
