To my ARI friends and family:
As we head into the third month of social distancing and shutdowns to manage the COVID-19 pandemic, our ARI customers, drivers, and industry partners are constantly on my mind and in my heart.
While gradual reopening measures are now being announced on a daily basis, many of your businesses never closed. Your fleet helped keep the world moving forward. You may be even busier than ever, supporting essential drivers while navigating remote work and distancing hurdles. If you’ve been forced to make extremely difficult decisions for the long-term health of your organization, you’re not alone in that reality. Despite these challenges, there’s still critical work that needs to get done – and ARI’s people continue to be by your side to help you accomplish that.
On behalf of ARI collectively, we are extremely grateful for the continued strength of our partnerships. We’re more focused than ever on your success, and continue to invest in ways to move forward together. Some of our recent efforts include:
- Pivoted more than 98 percent of our workforce to work-from-home mode with every resource necessary to support your account, maintenance and other operational needs.
- Continued facilitation of remote client visits through the use of conferencing software to sustain momentum and bolster our relationships.
- Increased volume of executive video messaging to keep our people informed, as well as virtual team meetings to support productivity, boost morale, and identify ways to work more efficiently.
- Developed our COVID Resource Center to share daily updates as well as best practices for controlling costs in the current environment.
I’m disappointed to miss the chance to connect with you at various industry conferences that have been rescheduled. We will continue filling those voids with additional virtual activity, such as webinars and digital tools to stay in touch as we navigate the recovery process. Keep an eye out for our emails and social media posts with content developed with your needs in mind.
That brings us to the big question: What’s next?
Our next step is to help you address today’s concerns, while keeping a careful eye on tomorrow’s opportunities. Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll continue supporting you in balancing short-term fleet decisions with long-term company objectives. That includes adjusting your timelines, schedules, and best practice approaches for both capital and operating cost management. And through it all, we’ll remain as transparent and open as we were before this pandemic, keeping communication clear and available.
I’d like to close with a quote from our Chairperson, Mindy Holman. Mindy directed this to our employees, and the same sentiment applies to the partnerships we share with our customers:
“This is going to be a tough time but we’re going to emerge from this a stronger, more cohesive, more caring, and more successful organization.”
Thank you again for the sacrifices you’re making to keep our neighborhoods safe and functioning. This is a difficult time for everyone, but it’s made easier by the people who are committed to keeping the world turning.
