How the Internet of Things Slashed One Fleet Owner’s Accident Costs

The partnership between ARI and Red Hawk Fire & Safety was recently featured in an article that appeared on siliconANGLE, “How the Internet of Things Slashed One Fleet Owner’s Accident Costs.

In the article, Red Hawk shared how they found $1 million in liability savings and experienced 68 percent drop in the number of accidents year over year when they partnered with ARI and implemented a proactive driver safety program using telematics, training and real-time data.

Blair Schober, U.S. Fleet Manager for Red Hawk, noted that in addition to the savings that were uncovered, there were collateral benefits as well, including reduced fuel costs, improved route planning, and a reduction in the severity of the accidents. “When I first took over health and safety, we were averaging four accidents per worker’s comp entry,” Schober said. “We’ve got that down to less than two.”
