Fleet Management 2025 Forecast: New Vehicle Purchasing

This Fleet Financials article predicts that the upcoming government-mandated CAFE requirements and the booming domestic oil industry will be the two biggest factors impacting vehicle construction and fleet vehicle ordering in the next 10 to 15 years.

Partha Ghosh, ARI director, vehicle supply chain – North America, contributes insight regarding the fuel-cost component, including various influencing factors and the importance of timing. He stated, “It’s important to consider the sustaining likelihood of recent trends, whether ‘good’ or ‘bad’, and determine the appropriate time to modify important measures such as TCO.”

Ghosh also commented on the importance of timing as it relates to vehicle supply and demand, “If demand outpaces supply (by proxy, capacity), it is clear that buying out-of-stock will be harder…Clients should take these factors into consideration and plan for potentially longer lead times for both stock and factory orders…”
